What to Expect on a Multi Day Bike Tour

At CycleTreks our ‘all inclusive’ tours are designed so all you have to do is get to Victoria BC, we take care of the rest. Take some time to enjoy our beautiful city, which Conde Nast Traveler Magazine recently ranked the 3rd friendliest city in the world, before heading off on a fully supported active cycling vacation in the Pacific Northwest.

Bring your enthusiasm and your camera; you are going to want to share our local sights and experiences with your friends, not only are we friendly but our local scenery is a sightseeing extravaganza of beaches, trails, forest, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, lakes and more.

Once on tour you don’t have to worry about meals, ferry schedules, accommodations or local highlights; we take care of all the details. The first day of the tour we pick up all the guests and have a meet and great, do final adjustments on your Rocky Mountain hybrid bike, outfit you with a helmet and whatever bike bag (trunk bag, handlebar bag, or pannier) works for you. Everyone is different, the van carries all your supplies so you really don’t need anything but some riders like to have extra clothing with them at all times, up to you. We then do a safety briefing and talk about the first leg of the ride, the guides will review hand signals and road etiquette then off you go.
Your first lunch stop is only a few hours away and a great time to get to know your fellow travelers and guides before heading off again. An average day is approximately 40 kms or 25 miles and is broken up with lunch, water and photo breaks. Some days are longer than others, some rides are hilly, some are long and flat – if at any time you are tired and want a break, no problem just hop in the shuttle van until you feel like riding again. All riders can ride at their own pace, these tours are designed for the recreational rider who wants to have an active vacation, enjoy the local sites, eat great food and stay in the nicest accommodation the area has to offer.

A typical day starts with a hearty breakfast, briefing of the days ride and sightseeing highlights, any important details (very important to make the ferry in time), lunch break then an afternoon ride to your bed for the night. Once checked in everyone will meet for dinner and talk about the day’s highlights while enjoying some West Coast cuisine sharing memories and making new ones.
